About The Initiative

The Abuse, Neglect, and Assault Exemption Modification and Improvement Act

Initiative Petition 13, formally titled the Abuse, Neglect, and Assault Exemption Modification and Improvement Act, is a ballot initiative filed with the state of Oregon for the November 2022 general election.

If enacted, IP13 would remove some of the exemptions to our pre-existing animal cruelty laws that currently allow certain individuals to abuse, neglect, and sexually assault animals without penalty.

We believe everyone should be held to the same standards when it comes to animal cruelty, and hope that this initiative will radically improve the lives of our fellow earthlings. You can read the full text of IP 13 here.

Before it gets to the ballot, we need to collect 112,020 signatures from registered voters in the state of Oregon. If you want to help, find out how you can volunteer or donate to the campaign.
